The Washington Italian Festival — now in its 9th year — promises everyone a memorable experience Saturday, September 27, 2025!

The festival opens the night before (September 26th) with Shades of Time performing from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Community Pavilion. The concert is open to the public.

Food, beverages and vendor booths are open all day at the Community Pavilion with music provided by DJ AJ Fresh.

It starts at noon with an opening ceremony — blessing, honor guard by Young Marines, singing of the National Anthem and opening remarks.

At 1:30, County Commissioner Larry Maggi will present Honoring Italian American Educators.

Author Anna Harsh will host Italian children’s stories at 3:45. She wrote Alessia Discovers a Spider Web, an Italian-themed children’s book.

Admission to the concert the night before and a full day of music, food and events on Saturday is free.

Closing

The Washington Italian Festival is organized by the Sons and Daughters of Italy Primo Italiano Lodge #2800, Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, Sons and Daughters of Italy. It is a non-profit group that promotes Italian culture. It supports the Washington community through events and a college scholarship program for eligible students.

The arrival of Italian immigrants was part of the growth in Washington’s population and the local economy in the early 20th century. The Italian Heritage Collection at Citizens Library holds articles, books and other publications.

Everyone can enjoy a day of Italian heritage at the Washington Italian Festival on September 27. The Community Pavilion is located at 139 South Main Street in Downtown Washington, PA. Italian food and beverages are waiting to be enjoyed!
